Our current activities include:
- Cuppa Cake Chat – a free fortnightly social get-together for residents to connect with one another. It meets in the Alder Road Centre on the first and third Wednesday of each month 10-11:30am.
- Parks Craft Group – a free monthly space for residents to connect through crafts. It meets in the Alder Road Centre on the fourth Wednesday of the month 9:30-11:30am.
- Chair-obics – A space for residents to get active in a fun and social environment. Sessions are £4 each at the Alder Road Centre on Mondays 11.15am-12noon and Thursdays 2-2:45pm. - Youth Provision – detached youth workers from the Blend (funded by Belper Town Council) engage young people weekly on the Parks, or at the Alder Road Centre during the winter months. Blend also offer bespoke small group sessions, one-to-one mentoring and holiday activities (funded by Hope for Belper).
- Community Newsletters – produced and delivered quarterly to keep residents up to date with our activities and signposting them to local services.
- Belper Well Dressing – Blue Box Belper’s craft group has created well-dressings for four years now, involving the wider Blue Box community in the process.
- Community Fundraising Activities – in support of our activities and the Alder Road Centre’s running costs. Past fundraising has included: Quiz Nights, Market Stalls, Community Calendar, Jumble Sales, an Annual Urban Fell Race and Partnering with Local Groups and Organisations such as Herbert Strutt Primary School and others.
- Community Walks – We’re exploring whether there’s a desire for regular community walks in the area. You can fill in our walks survey here.
